Matias Sanchez, PhD, MSc, P.Geo., is Director and Principal Geologist at Fault Rocks Inc. providing technical expertise in the areas of structural geology, geophysical data interpretation and GIS. He has over fourteen years of experience working in the mineral exploration industry and in economic geology research projects. Matias has carried out detailed studies and fieldwork for the understanding of structural and tectonic controls of epithermal and porphyry style deposits in western Turkey, the Canadian Cordillera, southern Argentina, Chile and Peru. He also delivers training courses in structural geology and interpretation of remotely sensed data to industry and academia. Matias has completed an MSc and PhD at the Fault Dynamics Research Group (FDRG) of Royal Holloway University of London and a post-doctoral fellowship at the Mineral Deposit Research Unit (MDRU) of the University of British Columbia. His role at Fault Rocks is to integrate geology and geophysics for building new structural mapping and interpretations for mineral exploration targeting.
